Reese selected 7th overall by Chicago Sky
LSU women's basketball star Angel Reese has declared for the 2024 WNBA Draft, despite having one year of eligibility remaining. The 21-year-old was selected seventh overall by the Chicago Sky, becoming the latest LSU player to make the jump to the professional ranks.
Reese, a two-time All-American and SEC Player of the Year, averaged 23.5 points and 15.7 rebounds per game for the Tigers this past season. She led LSU to the SEC regular season and tournament championships and a berth in the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16.
Despite her impressive collegiate career, Reese believes she is ready for the next challenge. "I have accomplished everything I can at LSU," she said. "I'm excited to take my game to the next level and compete against the best players in the world."
Reese is one of several highly-touted college players who have declared for the 2024 WNBA Draft. Other notable prospects include Iowa's Caitlin Clark and Stanford's Cameron Brink. The draft is scheduled to be held on April 15, 2024.
Reese's decision to enter the draft early is a testament to her talent and confidence. The Chicago Sky will be getting a player who is ready to make an immediate impact in the WNBA.
