Matt Rhule Announces Starting Cornerback for Nebraska Football
A Look at the New Starting Cornerback
Nebraska Cornhuskers football coach Matt Rhule has announced that sophomore Braxton Clark will start at cornerback for the upcoming season.
Clark is a 5-foot-11, 180-pounder who played in all 12 games as a redshirt freshman in 2022.
He recorded 24 tackles and one interception.
Clark is a native of Dallas, Texas, and was a three-star recruit coming out of high school.
He is expected to be a key contributor for the Huskers defense in 2023.
He is a physical and athletic player who is good in coverage and tackling.
He is also a hard worker and a student of the game.
Clark is expected to start alongside senior Quinton Newsome at cornerback.
The Huskers defense is expected to be much improved in 2023 under new defensive coordinator Tony White.
White is a former NFL player and coach who is known for his aggressive style of defense.
The Huskers are hoping to improve on their 4-8 record from 2022.
They open the 2023 season on Saturday, September 2nd, at home against the North Dakota Fighting Hawks.
