Kauai Announces Holiday Closures for Labor Day

County Offices and Essential Services

The County of Kauai will observe the Labor Day holiday on Monday, September 5, 2023, with closures of most county offices and services.

Kauai Fire Department and Police Department emergency services will continue operating as usual.

Facility Closures

The following facilities will be closed on Labor Day:

• County Offices
• Kauai War Memorial Convention Hall
• Waimea Neighborhood Center
• Hanalei Neighborhood Center
• Kapaa Neighborhood Center
• Anahola Neighborhood Center
• Koloa Neighborhood Center
• Public Libraries
• County Parks and Gardens (except Kealia Beach and Lydgate Beach, which will have limited staff)

Refuse collection services will not be affected by the holiday.

Essential Services

The following essential services will remain operational during the holiday:

• Kauai Police Department
• Kauai Fire Department
• Kauai Medical Center
• The Bus
• Kauai Humane Society
