Republican’s slim chance to beat Schiff
POLITICO Morning Consult Poll shows Schiffs with clear lead
Polls show Republicans have a slim chance of unseating Schiff
A recent poll shows that Republicans have a slim chance of beating Democrat Adam Schiff in the upcoming Senate race. The poll, conducted by POLITICO Morning Consult, found that Schiff has a 49% to 43% lead over Republican challenger Steve Garvey.
The poll also found that Schiff has a strong lead among likely voters, with 53% saying they would vote for him compared to 40% who would vote for Garvey.
Schiff's campaign has been buoyed by a recent surge in spending, which has allowed him to outspend Garvey on television advertising by a margin of more than 2-to-1. Schiff has also benefited from the support of high-profile Democrats, including former President Barack Obama and former Vice President Joe Biden.
Despite Schiff's lead, Republicans believe they have a chance to win the race if they can energize their base and attract moderate voters. Garvey has been campaigning on a platform of tax cuts and deregulation, and has promised to be a strong supporter of President Donald Trump.
The election will be held on November 6.
