England reaches the semifinals of the UEFA EURO

England defeated Switzerland 5-3 to reach the semifinals of the UEFA EURO for the second successive time.

The match was closely contested, with Switzerland taking an early lead but England coming back to win in extra time.

The match was played in front of a capacity crowd at the Saint Petersburg Stadium in Russia. Switzerland took the lead in the 12th minute through Xherdan Shaqiri, but England equalized in the 34th minute through Luke Shaw. Switzerland regained the lead in the 57th minute through Mario Gavranovic, but England equalized again in the 68th minute through Harry Kane.

The match went into extra time, and England took the lead for the first time in the 95th minute through Harry Maguire. Switzerland equalized again in the 101st minute through Fabian Schär, but England won the match in the 118th minute through Raheem Sterling.

England will now face Denmark in the semifinals on Wednesday, 7 July.
