Tirupati Laddu Rate Hiked To 50 Ttd Pensioners To Get 1000 Per Month

Tirupati laddu rate hiked to ₹50; TTD pensioners to get ₹1,000 per month

The price of a Tirupati laddu has been increased to ₹50, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) announced on Thursday. The price of the ₹25 laddu will remain unchanged, TTD officials said.

The decision was taken by the TTD board at a meeting held on Thursday. The board also decided to provide a monthly pension of ₹1,000 to TTD employees who have retired from service.

The price hike in Tirupati laddu has been attributed to the rising cost of ingredients, TTD officials said. The last time the price of Tirupati laddu was increased was in 2019, when it was hiked from ₹20 to ₹50.

The Tirupati laddu is a popular sweet offered to Lord Venkateswara at the Tirumala Venkateswara Temple. The laddu is made from besan flour, sugar, ghee, and cardamom. It is believed that the laddu has medicinal properties and is offered to devotees as a prasadam.

The TTD is a trust that manages the Tirumala Venkateswara Temple and other temples in the Tirupati region. The TTD is one of the richest temples in the world, with an annual income of over ₹2,000 crore.
